The Australian Federal Government has put its support behind small and medium enterprises to expand their digital footprint through the new JobMaker Digital Business Plan, announced on Monday.
What we know so far…
1. $800 million in new digital initiatives
2. $22.1 million support the private sector for investment in 5G trials and testbeds
3. $7.1 million will be invested in accelerating 5G while telecommunications companies will be allowed to pay by instalments for the next spectrum auction, freeing up capital for investment.
Josh Frydenberg highlighted, “The shift online has enabled many businesses to transform and sustain their operations during COVID-19”.
We couldn’t agree more. Here at USource we’ve been at the coalface of seeing existing digital businesses expand their footprint online. We have also assisted countless SMBs – who were traditional bricks and mortar businesses – quickly transform their operations to benefit from the digital surge online.
